If You Are The Smartest Person in the Room ... Find a New Room

"If you're the smartest person in the room ... find a new room." I heard this saying the other day, and it brought a smile to my face.  It illustrates the thought process of a person that will have success in life. Successful and strong people crave and seek out other strong people.  They want to learn more, and can only do so from someone who is better than them at something.

Why is this drive so important and such a sign of success?  It takes confidence -- not to be afraid of not being the best at everything. It takes humility -- to be open to learning from others. It takes passion -- the drive to get better in life.

When I heard this saying, I immediately thought of another saying: A players hire A players and B players hire C players. The term "hire" could easily be replaced with "associate with."  That's why it's so important to challenge yourself and surround yourself with driven, passionate people.  You'll be inspired to achieve more than you thought possible.

"If you aren't talking to someone you can learn from, you are just wasting your time."
